  3. The purpose of my life is to serve—to serve my Lord, my family, my students and my community, in that order. I will utilize the rule of three to maintain balance in my life. I recognize that I cannot serve unless I care for myself. Therefore, every morning, I will rise to identify three goals—first with faith, second with physical strength, third with obligations. I will meet my faith goal and my strength goals before I begin my work day. My obligation goal may have up to three parts, which will be comprised of the three most pressing work or home obligations that must be completed that day. I will strive to meet my work obligations within the time frame of a normal work day, and the home obligations during my lunch hour or while in transit with my family. I will abide by the rule of three obligations a day, working to complete them as quickly as possible each day, so that I may commit myself fully to my family, truly being present in our activities, every evening.
